Is the Salton Sea romantic? Well, the area is certainly interesting. The Coachella Valley is a major date center, and dates are romantic, aren't they? All I can say is that we go there every year, but this place is not for everyone.
The Salton Sea, 35 miles long and 15 miles wide, is more saline than the ocean, and is almost as salty as the Great Lake in Utah. The surrounding area is agricultural fields and dry desert.
