Jun. 24--The once-shelved merger of the Southern Chester County League and the Ches-Mont League appears to be back on track. In a two-sentence release sent yesterday by league president Rick Dunlap, the Ches-Mont extended invitations to join the league for the 2007-2008 school year to Kennett, Great Valley, Oxford, Octorara and Unionville of the SCCL.
The Ches-Mont, a 12-team league before several schools defected in the mid-1980s to form the Pioneer Athletic Conference, has six teams. It is scheduled to grow to eight for the 2006-2007 school year with the addition of Avon Grove, now a member of the SCCL, and Bayard Rustin, the …
