iSkoot, a mobile Internet phone company, recently announced the first bridge to connect mobile phones with PC-to-PC networks. For the first time, the cellular phone customer does not need a PC, custom cell phone or Wi-Fi hotspot to connect with a caller who utilizes a PC-to-PC technology such as Skype.

The iSkoot Mobile Network currently is only available for Cingular cell phone subscribers, and can only connect with callers on the other end utilizing the Skype platform. The technology rides on the Cingular network. To place or receive incoming calls from a Skype user, the Cingular cell phone customer must download a special software program from the iSkoot Web site.
