Skins and hides trader Hassan Basajjabalaba is embroiled in yet another financial controversy.

Six vehicles he ordered last year on behalf of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council have not been delivered to the recipients, including the Mufti, Sheikh Ramatham Mubbajje.

Bassajjabalaba has not handed over the vehicles - including three Toyota Land Cruisers, two Mercedes Benzes and one X3 BMW, six months after they were cleared by the Uganda Revenue Authority - tax free, in December 2005.

The Ministry of Finance paid the Shs 170 million bill for the vehicles import tax exemption, according to URA release orders seen by Daily …
