Section: Regional News - Strengthening state management over the marriage of Vietnamese women to foreigners and overseas Vietnamese was the theme of a two-day conference that opened in Ho Chi Minh City on June 9.

The conference, held by the Vietnam Women's Union, took place at a time when the number of such marriages is on the rise, including increasing risks of cross-border trafficking in women.

Participants, who represented authorities and women's unions in 31 cities and provinces with large numbers of international marriages, proposed measures such as tightening control over the entry and exit of women and children, …
