AS Earl Leslie Griggs noted in 1954, Coleridge pubLished tHe Irregular Sonnet, ~Maid of my love! sweet Genevieve!', in the Morning Chronicle, 15 July 1793.(1) This was listed by David V. Erdman in his account of Coleridge variants,(2) but neither he, Griggs, nor any subsequent scholar seems to have noticed another contribution by Coleridge to the same newspaper a few days later. Nina-thoma was composed shortly before 7 February 1793, when it was copied in a letter to Mary Evans;(3) a revised text was published in the Morning Chronicle, 18 July 1793. I reprint it here, since it differs in several respects from other versions of the poem.
