While tons of celebrity wannabes flock to Hollywood every year hoping to make it big, it seems a group of' established A-listers are getting the hell out. Find out why below.
The Stalker-azzi Are Everywhere
From whom they're dating to what they're eating, our culture is fascinated with the most minor celebrity tidbits. To feed the fascination, the paparazzi push even harder to get as many candid snaps of stars as possible.
"In Hollywood, cameras are around every corner," says Jane Buckingham, president of trend-tracking agency The Intelligence Group. "It puts celebs under constant scrutiny, adding stress to their already hectic lives." Their solution: retreating to a place where gossip hounds don't follow their every move.
Holly-world Is Smaller
Movies and TV shows are shot all over the world now, so celebs don't have to live in Tinseltown to have a career. "It's become a trend for stars to let their team of managers, agents, and publicists know in advance when they'll be in town and then book back-to-back meetings, shoots, and interviews for that week," says Jennifer Turner, celebrity publicist at Wolf-Kasteler-Van Iden and Associates. Time away from the hustle helps these stars avoid busy A-lister burnout.
