Jun. 5--They go were the land is. D.R. Horton, a major home builder in Central Florida, expects to add at least six new communities to its development efforts this year. All are a good ways from Orlando.
New projects are scheduled in north Brevard County, Lake County and Volusia County. The builder already is operating in Orange, Osceola, Lake, Volusia, Polk and Brevard. Royal Palm Homes is also adding to its land bank. The company acquired a 54-acre site near Apopka to develop 235 single-family houses. Albert Kodsi, president, said work on the property on Mandan Road will start before the end of the year.
