CONGLOMERATE Sime Darby Bhd wants to expand its plantation business by increasing its greenfield hectarage in Indonesia to 200ha in the next three years from 40ha currently.
Group chief executive Datuk Ahmad Zubir Murshid said the group is aiming to double its plantation landbank in Indonesia in the next two years and is currently evaluating to purchase another 100ha.
"We are currently evaluating the price and condition," he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
He said Sime Darby is weighing various purchasing options in Kalimatan and Sumatra.
