NAGOYA -- The parents of a 2-month-old baby boy, who died after he was left in a car while his parents were playing slot machines in a pachinko parlor, were arrested on Monday for failing to carry out their parental duties, police said.

Company employee Masato Takeuchi, 24, and his wife Rie, 23, admitted to leaving their baby son Rio in their station wagon at about 9 a.m. on Sunday, when they parked the car in a pachinko parlor's parking lot in Toyoake.

The baby died of heatstroke at about 3 p.m. on Sunday. The parents didn't …
