JOHOR BARU: Police have picked up a man who went berserk and destroyed about 40 hawker stalls and smashed the windscreens of four cars here on Sunday.
Police said the motive of the attack was being investigated.
It is believed that the 27-year-old man, who was armed with an iron rod, had just been released from prison.
Johor Baru Petty Traders' Association chairman Chin Yoke Weng said some of the hawkers chased the man away after he had smashed the glass panes of 31 hawker stalls at the Tebrau Market Food Court.
