May 28--Sharing top honors Saturday night at the annual Jester Awards for outstanding overall theatrical production were "Urinetown: The Musical!" at Wichita East High, "Aida" at Wichita Collegiate and "Smokey Joe's Cafe" at Buhler High. The awards, presented for the fifth year by Music Theatre of Wichita in ceremonies at Century II, honor performances at local and area high schools. "It's really grown," said Wayne Bryan, Music Theatre's producing director. "The first year, we had entries from 18 high schools. This year, we had 30 productions from 28 schools."
