Corruption-free Botswana an ideal partner for De Beers THE Botswana government has renewed the mining licence of De Beers' Jwaneng diamond mine for 25 years. Last night Face to Face's spoke to Business Day's international affairs editor Jonathan Katzenellenbogen about the matter.

Jonathan, how important is this deal? I think it's very important. What it indicates is that producer countries such as Botswana have enormous power over companies such as De Beers, which are highly reliant on them.
