May 24--For the first time ever, the boys' and girls' soccer teams at Alexander Graham Middle School finished the season atop their conference -- and along the way accomplished a lot of good. Before the season began, players on both teams signed up sponsors to contribute money for each goal scored as part of a schoolwide project to build a second floor onto a village school in Ghana, Africa. The project to raise at least $15,000 (a second floor could cost up to $20,000) was started as a challenge to all AG students by social studies teacher Dana Clerico, who coaches the boys' team.
