FUKUOKA -- Police on Friday sent documents to prosecutors accusing an amateur golfer of negligence resulting in injury after a practice ball hit a woman in the eye while she was strolling near a park here, officials said.

The 55-year-old man, from Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture, was hitting balls in a park in Iizuka, Fukuoka Prefecture, on Jan. 2 this year, aiming at a target some 70 meters away.
