AKITA -- Four people were burned to death in a house fire early Friday morning, police said.

At around 3:55 a.m., a fire broke out at the home of Yoshiaki Nogami, 52, a company employee, in the Niida Fukimicho district of Akita and burned down the two-story wooden structure with a total floor space of about 160 square meters, investigators said.

The charred bodies of four people were subsequently pulled out of the debris of the home. Investigators suspect that the bodies are those of Nogami, his …
