May 23--It's back to the chalkboard for the J.S. Wilson Middle School project.
Millcreek School Board members essentially scrapped the proposed $20.2 million renovation project Monday night by voting not to accept construction bids that came in 20 percent over budget.
Along with reading, writing and arithmetic, the district now will have to think about another "three R's": revisiting, redesigning and rebidding the project, Millcreek schools Superintendent Dean Maynard said.
"This is not the news we wanted to deliver today," Maynard told a room full of about 50 parents, teachers and students.
