A pilot project has got under way to improve the process of subscription, supply and access to electronic journals by exploring the advantages of using a common institutional identifier and creating a prototype model.
The British Library, HighWire Press, Ringgold, Swets Information Services and a group of HighWire-affiliated publishers are all taking part in the journal supply chain efficiency improvement project.
