ProQuest brings 19th Century periodicals into digital age

ProQuest Information and Learning, the aggregation specialist, has started a project to digitise nearly six million article pages from 19th century British periodicals.

The archive will be entitled British Periodicals, and will initially consist of 160 periodicals, increasing to nearly 500 within two years.

The collection is due to be released early in 2006. Periodicals will include the Cornhill Magazine, Modern Review and social commentary title Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine.
