ICC Information embarks on microfiche scanning project
ICC Information has embarked on a massive company document scanning programme to transfer Companies House information it holds in the pre-1996 timeframe. Data on more than 360,000 "live trading companies" incorporated before 1996 will be made available on demand -- currently users have to wait between 20 minutes and an hour to be sent a digital scan of information held on microfiche. ICC's head of products and services, Paul Westcott, said the project involved a big investment in scanners and people who are scheduled to complete the work in November 2006. "This is a unique offering that many will find useful when researching companies for client acceptance or KYC reports," he said. "They will no longer need to wait for a document, collection of documents or company report, they will click on a button and access it."
