T&F Informa embarks on acquisition spree
High-profile takeover of IIR Holdings suggests events business will be top priority, writes Bobby Pickering
Any ambitions T&F Informa may have had to acquire a European academic publishing goliath, now appear to have dissolved into a series of less sizeable acquisitions.
The company has disclosed that it is acquiring Triangle Journals, a small Oxfordshire specialist in educational and feminist titles, originally set up in the early 1990s as a home-based operation by Roger Osborn-King and his wife. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
"We anticipate a smooth integration of these titles as many of the editors are already working with us as Routledge journal editors and book authors," said Graham Hobbs, an editorial director.
Earlier, the company had also announced a deal with the Institute of Physics Publishing (IOPP) to take its 600-title book list for an undisclosed sum.
