Stellent buys financial compliance specialist

Stellent has signaled its intention to make financial compliance and risk management a core part of its overall offerings by acquiring e-Onehundred Group, a specialist in compliance and governance solutions. Connecticut-based e-Onehundred includes among its offerings SOA Director, a framework for managing enterprise compliance. The firm had been a strategic partner of Stellent for two years, with its technology forming a key component of the Stellent Sarbanes-Oxley Solution. The deal will cost Stellent between $7m and $9m ([pounds sterling]3.95m to [pounds sterling]5m), dependent on a $2m cash earn-out based on revenue performance in the next year. The remainder of the settlement is $5m cash and $2m in shares.

DPA emerges as new trade champion

The Directory and Database Publishers Association has been reborn as the Data Publishers Association (DPA), a rebranding that it hopes will widen its appeal to the growing band of online information suppliers. The trade body unveiled its new logo and image at a conference and awards ceremony in London last month. The conference addressed the theme of "Change and Competition", covering topics such as local search, building databases using web spiders, and open access versus subscription business models. A spirited discussion focused on the threat (and opportunities) posed by the recent European Court of Justice judgment in the William Hill v British Horse-racing Board case.
