Library automation supplier Sirsi Corporation has taken over rival Dynix, in a deal that will see Dynix's CEO Jack Blount move on to the Sirsi board as executive technology consultant.
In a move that suggests Sirsi has learnt lessons from its May 2001 acquisition of Data Research Associates, which initially operated as a wholly-owned subsidiary, Sirsi has decided to market the takeover as "a merger of equals".
