Managing Information Services is a book written by an information professional and a management lecturer. The title aims to provide information professionals with a balance of management and information concepts, and to present the period of change the sector is going through as positive to the careers of information professionals.
Librarian Sue Roberts and lecturer Jennifer Rowley, introduce seven classic management theories being applied to library and information science. These theories are: organisation behaviour, management versus leadership, people in organisations, marketing, quality management, finance, and strategy and planning.
It is quite astonishing how much they have packed into these 250 pages, with plenty of pointers to both printed and web resources.
