TUC Lauds Lawmakers for Rejecting Tenure Extension.

TRADE Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), an umbrella body for senior staff associations in the country, has commended the National Assembly on its Tuesday rejection of tenure extension for elected political office holders and declared that the rejection is not a vote against the good works of the President Obasanjo led Federal government.

At a press conference yesterday in Lagos, Secretary General of TUC, Chief John Kolawole, noted that the body is opposed to total rejection of the entire amendment process, arguing that it is like throwing the baby away with bath water.
