THE First Lady, Ms Janet Kataha Museveni, was yesterday sworn in as MP for Ruhama County amid cheers and jubilations from excited NRM supporters.

The function that had begun on a low note at about 10am later picked momentum after the arrival of Janet, flanked by her husband President Yoweri Museveni.

The swearing in ceremony that had gone on for about 40 minutes, was temporarily suspended as the army band played the national anthem before the new MP for Ruhama in the Eighth Parliament took her seat from where she shortly emerged to take an oath.
