Eight times a year, often when the moon is full, I get together with a delightful group of women, and we sing, share our hearts' desires, and offer up gratitudes to the Goddess. This is our spiritual practice--Wicca is our religion, and we are not alone. Demographers recognize it as one of the fastest-growing religions in the United States (the latest numbers show a 100 percent increase over the last 20 years), and the U.S. Department of Defense acknowledges the spiritual needs of its Wiccan soldiers. But what about public libraries, those forward-thinking institutions of knowledge and learning? Do they recognize my faith? Not so much.
