May 18--ARLINGTON -- Students at Arlington and Bowie high schools will be able to pursue a more challenging course of study with an international accent beginning in August, thanks to the two campuses' new International Baccalaureate Diploma programs.

The designation will enable next year's juniors to follow a curriculum that would put them in a better position to be accepted at colleges and universities worldwide. Only six other North Texas schools are accredited to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

Teachers and administrators at both schools have been working jointly toward securing the program for two years.…
