May 18--Two Arlington high schools will offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program beginning in the fall, district officials announced Wednesday. Arlington and Bowie high schools had to go through a rigorous application process before being selected by the International Baccalaureate Organization, which offers its programs to more than 200,000 students in 122 countries. "This notification is a culmination of two years of unrelenting hard work," Arlington Superintendent Mac Bernd said, adding that the program gives students "a passageway to a world-class education."
