ASTAR Air Cargo, locked in the second year of contract talks with its pilots, this month asked the National Mediation to help get talks moving toward a resolution.

The company asked the NMB to "assist us as we focus on trying to get something done in the near term," said Doug McKeen, senior vice president of employee relations for ASTAR, the smaller of two freight airlines DHL Express uses for U.S. shipments. That makes ASTAR the latest among a number of cargo airlines choosing to use NMB services.
