Furniture store deal lands realty office.

May 16--ONTARIO -- A deal to bring furniture superstore Mathis Brothers to Ontario now includes an office building and a $500,000 landscaping commitment from the city.

The City Council approved a plan by Mathis Brothers to sell off part of its 19-acre parcel for an office building that will be occupied by a home lending firm, The De Oro Group. The furniture store is expected to open near the end of 2007.

City officials said they are pleased with the deal, having hoped to lure more business uses to the area just west of the Ontario Mills shopping center.
