Imbolc Poems 
 
   1. Imbolc 
 
   easier 
   if once having given birth 
   the new fawn straggled off to eden 
 
   so much harder 
   to carry 
   her with her stick legs 
   over snowfields 
 
   if there were a brook 
   a fig left lying in the snow 
   a trickle of sap from a tree 
 
   to make the journey easier 
 
   o lady of the well of life 
   have pity on one who bears herself 
   through cold winter 
 
   show yourself 
   though you dwell beneath frozen water 
   tap the ice until it breaks
