Don Arnwine, president of the Health Industry Council of the Dallas-Fort Worth Region, has spent more than 30 years as chief executive officer of several hospital systems, including Irving-based Voluntary Hospitals of America.

As head of the council -- a non-profit group designed to strengthen the North Texas health care industry -- Arnwine hears the problems and complaints of area hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, health manufacturers and others active in the industry.

The Business Journal talked to Arnwine about the measures local health care providers are taking to cope with President Clinton's proposed health reform as well as the effect he thinks reform will have on the industry.
