The Palestine Authority is spiraling toward paralysis, chaos, or worse. Its president, Mahmoud Abbas, represents the nationalist PLO, but its elected government is drawn exclusively from the Islamist Hamas, and the jockeying for power between these two movements is driving events in a cockeyed fashion. Abbas proposes to negotiate with Israel, but then can't bring himself to condemn the recent suicide bombing in Tel Aviv. International donors are unwilling to sponsor the open and defiant terrorists of Hamas, and so the money has dried up and Palestinians ...
