Crew member okay

One of Andretti Green Racing's crew members got a scare at the recent IRL race in Japan, but he suffered no serious injuries. Steve Price, the left-rear tire changer struck by driver Dario Franchitti, will be back at his post when Indy practice begins Tuesday.

F1 briefs

The Ferrari F1 team has dismissed as "pure speculation'' the rumor that Ferrari, and more specifically Marlboro, has offered a new, two-year contract to Michael Schumacher, worth $70 million.

Meanwhile, BMW recruited German engineer Jorg Zander as Sauber's chief designer, reporting to technical director Willy Rampf. Zander started in F1 with Toyota and has also worked at BAR and briefly at Williams.

McLaren-Mercedes has lost another member of its team to Red Bull Racing. RBR hired longtime McLaren employee Neil Martin to become its new head of strategic operations. Martin was in charge of research at McLaren.
