YOKOHAMA -- Shizuka Arakawa, Asia's first ever Olympic figure skating gold medallist, will announce Sunday night that she plans to turn professional and give up competitive figure skating to perform in ice shows, sources said.

Arakawa will make the formal announcement on Sunday night after she has performed in the Prince Ice World skating show at the Shin Yokohama Prince.
