KUALA LUMPUR: Death-row prisoner Alex Wong Teck Choy who is being treated in hospital for serious head injuries had earlier collapsed in his cell. "We are not hiding anything from his family or anyone," Deputy Internal Security Minister Datuk Mohd Johari Baharom said yesterday. "Wong was alone in the cell and the question of foul play does not arise." Johari was commenting on a New Straits Times report that Wong is fighting for his life after sustaining the injuries despite being placed under 24-hour surveillance at the Kajang Prison.
