The story so far: Last month, our favorite fictitious blogger, K., finally met her online suitor, Suburbs Guy, in the flesh. Their dates heated up, but when it came to making a carnal connection, he hit the brakes, leaving K. frustrated. Meanwhile, K. had an interview for her dream job, which meant a chance to move up in the world of TV news while also escaping the not-so-pleasant task of working with Derrick, her cheating ex-boy toy. Will Suburbs Guy give up the goods? Will K. get the gig?

News Flash

So I got the network job, and I've been walking around in a state of panic for the past two days because (1) I've been at the station for my entire professional life, (2) the new job is a big deal, and I'm not sure I'll be able to handle it, and (3) I have to tell Robert, my boss.

They want me to start on May 1. I'm sure Robert is going to freak and ask for more than three weeks' notice--like maybe a year. After all, he still has yet to replace Evil Blond Producer #2 or Pervy Anchor.

This morning, I sent an e-mail to Gwen, Robert's spazzy assistant, requesting a meeting with him. She wrote back "What is this regarding?" Ugh. How do I even respond? "The thing is, Gwen, I was totally sleeping with our assignment editor for a while. And then he cheated on me with the 5:00 producer. And now I can't walk in here without wanting to kill everyone." I didn't write that, of course, but how awesome would that have been? I responded that it was personal. Now I wait.
