South Texas college of law plans new $25 million library.

Proposed downtown building would be one of the largest law libraries in the country

South Texas College of Law has signed a contract with local 3D/International to design and build what will be one of the largest law libraries in the country.

"South Texas is the 11th largest law school in the nation," says Dean William Wilks. "But the library is the 63rd largest. This construction will set a standard for other schools to follow."

The new library will rank within the top five law school libraries nationwide, says Richelle Perrone, spokeswoman for the school. The University of Texas ranks first.
