THIS IS A PRETTY good collection of essays written by journalists working for the Australian about the decade of John Howard's government. Even without self-generated publicity via NewsCorp, it deserved to be the best-seller it has immediately become.
My only serious criticism is that I seem to have read it all before--as I mostly have, in the Australian, which I read avidly and with pleasure (even when I personally, occasionally, take some stick) each day. Indeed, the only serious revelation associated with the volume came from Nick Cater ...
