May 5--Charlotte-Mecklenburg School officials are continuing an investigation into a student who they say brought a loaded gun to school on a bus Thursday.

The student, an eighth-grader at Jay M. Robinson Middle School in southeast Charlotte, faces suspension and could face legal charges.

According to school officials, the girl showed the gun to fellow students on the bus and told them the weapon was not loaded. However, in a letter sent home to parents Thursday, Principal Maureen Furr said there was a bullet in the gun.…
