CHIBA -- A woman accused of trying to kill her husband with a potentially fatal dose of insulin has admitted that she injected the drug into him, police said.

The woman, Shiori Suzuki, 33, a naturalized Japanese who was born in China's Heilongjiang Province, reportedly told police that she injected the insulin into her 54-year-old husband Shigeru, but denies having intended to murder him.

He remains in a serious condition.
