THE interests of Malaysia Airlines employees affected by the route rationalisation plan agreed to between the airline and AirAsia will be safeguarded, the Dewan Rakyat was told yesterday.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy gave this assurance in reply to the concerns of MPs when he wound up the debate for his ministry.

He said when the MAS workforce was cut by 6,500 by way of a Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS), "the workers and their families will be taken care of".
