LTFRB rules out fare increase.

THE LAND TRANSPORTATION FRANCHISing Regulatory Board (LTFRB) yesterday ruled out any fare increase until diesel pump prices reach P35 per liter.

And even if prices do reach the P35 level, LTFRB chair Ma. Elena Bautista stressed that this does not mean that she would automatically approve pending petitions for fare hikes as she would have to first study the possible effects and repercussions of such a move.

Diesel now costs P32.79 to P34.32 per liter as Shell, Petron, Chevron Philippines, Total and Unioil raised their pump prices by 50 centavos per liter on April 30.
