May 3--Northridge Middle School The hydrogen-fueled cars are small enough to cradle in your hands. But a team of Northridge Middle students hope they're powerful enough to help persuade folks to stop using gas-fueled vehicles.
The students are building the cars in preparation for the third annual Students Fueling the Future competition, set for Saturday in Raleigh. Northridge was one of 20 schools picked for the event, which aims to teach students about renewable and alternative energy sources.
