It is somewhat surprising to learn that Danish pastries are very popular in Iran. But given recent cartoons, the Danes are not very popular over there, so the Iranian government has ordered bakeries to change the name of Danish pastries to "Roses of the Prophet Muhammad." Since Muhammad was merely God's messenger, and all idolatry of him or his name is prohibited in Islam, this seems to us to be skating close to blasphemy. ...
