The verdict is in -- and the jury has recommended the death sentence for President Clinton's recently proposed health care and tax plans.
In a survey of executives at Dallas-Fort Worth's largest public companies, as ranked by the Dallas Business Journal, a whopping 79% said they didn't approve of Clinton's health plan, and 88% said they don't like the tax plan, either.
The Dallas Business Journal sent the informal survey, which focused primarily on health care reform, to top officials at the 200 largest public companies in the Metroplex. Presidents, chairmen and chief executive officers were asked their opinions and what outcome they expected.
The survey also found that almost 40% expect to hire new employees within the next 90 days. Nineteen percent said they expected to lay off workers within the same time period. …
