from BERNAMA, The Malaysian National News Agency KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 (Bernama) -- The 16 Asian leaders attending the inaugural East Asia Summit (EAS) here on Wednesday are expected to pledge to ensure that the EAS evolves into an open, inclusive, transparent and outward-looking forum

The leaders of the 10 Asean countries, Asean's dialogue partners China, Japan and South Korea, as well as India, Australia and New Zealand are also expected to pledge that Asean would be the driving force of the EAS, with the holding of the summits regularly, dismissing sceptics' pessimism that the forum might not take off after the first summit here
