Apr. 28--Rare is the "feel good" movie that doesn't manipulate you along the way. Rare is "Akeelah and the Bee." "Akeelah" is about 11-year-old Akeelah Anderson, a bright middle school student who found solace in spelling after her father was gunned down in their South Los Angeles neighborhood. Her ability to spell is both a gift and a curse in a world where excelling in school isn't everyone's priority.
