'CHENEY's Aide Says President Approved Leak." So blared the Page One headline of the April 7 New York Times. It is a story as old as The Flood that the mainstream media are adamantine in their bias against the Bush presidency in general and the Iraq War in particular. But every now and again, the press outdoes itself.
"Cheney's Aide," of course, is I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, the vice president's former chief of staff. The leak with which he has heretofore been associated is the disclosure of the name of Valerie Plame Wilson as a CIA undercover officer, for which, after much cheerleading by the media, he has been indicted. Except that ... a) Libby wasn't indicted ...
